Is it a safety hazard if there is no red line marked on the pressure gauge?

1.Article 9.2.1.2 of Technical Supervision Regulations for Stationary Pressure Vessels (TSG21-2016) stipulates that "the verification and maintenance of pressure gauges shall comply with the relevant regulations of national metrological authorities. Pressure gauges shall be verified before installation, a red line indicating the working pressure shall be marked on the dial, and the next calibration date shall be indicated. A lead seal shall be affixed to the pressure gauge after calibration."
2.Boiler Safety Technical Regulations (TSG 11-2020) states in "5.2.3" that "pressure gauges shall be calibrated regularly, a red line indicating the working pressure shall be marked on the dial, and the next calibration date shall be indicated. A lead seal shall be affixed to the pressure gauge after calibration."
3.Safety Technical Specification for Vertical Cylindrical Steel Welded Storage Tanks (AQ3053-2015) specifies in "12.4.2" that "... pressure gauges shall be calibrated before installation, a red line indicating the working pressure shall be marked on the dial, and the next calibration date shall be indicated. Pressure gauges that have not passed the inspection or without lead seals are not allowed to be used."
4.General Pressure Gauges (GB/T 1226-2017) contains no relevant provisions. Even if it did, this standard itself is a recommended standard and not mandatory.
Therefore, from the above standards, it can be concluded that only pressure gauges for pressure vessels are required to have a red line, and there is no mandatory requirement for pressure gauges on general pipelines to have a high-pressure red line. Of course, despite this, marking a prominent red line on the pressure gauge makes work more convenient and is still recommended. However, even if there is no such red line, experts should not treat it as a safety hazard.
